Common Ground - The Bawnmore Project

On Sunday, November 16, 2003, the Bawnmore Residential Centre was the unusual setting for the premiere of Common Ground.
It is a newly commissioned piece of music and dance composed by Seán Taylor, and Mikael Fernstrom. This major music and dance event was commissioned by the board of directors of the Brothers of Charity at Bawnmore to mark the International Year of the Disabled. The work was premiered at this year’s ‘Sionna’ Festival of European Folk Music 2003.
The collaboration afforded us to work and collaborate with residents of the Bawnmore Centre who experience a variety of physical disabilities.
